Overview
This position deals with a specific HCSS product at all stages of the product life-cycle. You will be ultimately responsible for the product from conception to maturity. You will work at all levels and stages of product development, writing Specifications, determining feature sets, product strategy, and overall responsibility for the product direction. Responsible for entire product life cycle: product initiation, feasibility, designing and planning, development, testing, launch, operation, and, if necessary, decommissioning. Rapidly grow your skills by taking projects & features from vision through release, and through partnering with other disciplines and teams.
Product managers are accountable to executive management for overall product direction, key decisions, product budget, and the complete product P&L of the product, ensuring that final product meets specifications, and evangelizing the product to internal and external stakeholders. Product managers also have accountability to users for feature sets, navigation, quality, and overall experience.
Essential Position Functions
Regardless of experience, you must be good with software, have big picture ability, vision, strategy, be able to understand company goals, departmental goals, market goals, and customer goals. Must be able to empathize with customers such that you completely understand what they are requesting and why. Typical responsibilities include:
- Participate in and/or Lead technology evaluations and due diligence investigations for potential technology and tools for our products
- Manage a cross-functional team of people who are responsible for the development and operation of the product.
- Research requirements with customers
- Develop product requirements
- Write Use/ Business Cases
- Understand internal and external customer requirements as well as the competitive environment as it relates to the company's product plans.
- Develop customer and revenue growth objectives, identify required product enhancements, an direct expense forecasting to maximize tactic efficiency
- Remain current on local market requirements, latest competitive product information, and identifies needed product enhancements and sales training
- Ensure market and segment fit and correlation with the company pricing structures for product offering
- Coordinate the development of marketing and pricing strategies with the sales and marketing teams to maximize bundled sales and accelerate the growth of individual product line
- Manage tactical implementation to ensure that marketing plans are implemented successfully
- Design or participates in the design of software projects.
- Develop all training programs to get sales, tech support, implementation, and marketing up to speed on the product offering.
- Communicate with customers to confirm that they think it meets the original objectives.
- Lead presentations with existing customers and prospects to describe new functionality.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, if necessary

- Prefer 2 or more years of experience working in technology product management to include a successful launch of new technical products.

- College degree, experience in lieu of degree or a combination there of is acceptable
Not everyone has the ability to see the "big picture". If you have this aptitude and some proven skills and enjoy business thinking, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Because this position requires good analytical and problem solving skills, a short test is given to test for these skills.
Quality Assurance experience is preferred. Automated testing experience is a plus.
