Web Developer
Location: Sugar Land, TX

Overview
This position will be responsible for the development of web applications, tools, and sites. This is primarily a programming position, but aesthetic design skills are a plus. Qualified candidates must have strong problem solving and analytical skills. You will have high levels of interaction with both technical and non-technical personnel. You will be part of a team developing new innovative software products for the construction industry as well as enhancing existing estimating and job costing software products.
Essential Position Functions
Regardless of experience, you must be good with software, be very logical, and have a good understanding of good UI design. Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop dynamic database driven web tools and applications
- Create innovative and reusable functions during development
- Debug web pages visually and functionally
- Develop new web applications for both internal and external use
- Administer and coordinate with managed server provider
- Stay familiar with new technology and programming methods to improve sites and efficiency in writing code
- Design or participate in the design of software projects
- Create prototypes and mockups of our web applications
- Analyze, design, and specify the architecture for successful user experiences
- Work closely with developers, product managers, IT, QA, marketing, and graphic designers
Selection Criteria
The position requires experience or aptitude in the following:
- Familiar with programming concepts
- Expert knowledge with several of the following is required:
- HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML
- .NET, .ASP, PHP, VB, VB Script
- C# , Java, Javascript
- SQL, TSQL, SQL Server
- Helpful, but not required:
- Website Graphic Design
- Flash Development
- Fireworks
- Dreamweaver
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and logic skills
- Innovative insights and creativity in evaluating alternatives
- Problem solving skills for complex problems
- Communication-strong writing skills-able to express complex technical and business concepts in clear and concise manner
- Able to work as part of a team with Product Managers, Developers, Graphics Designers, Sales/Marketing & Executive Team
- College degree preferred, experience in lieu of degree or a combination there of is acceptable
Because this position requires good analytical and problem solving skills, a short test is given to test for these skills.
