Regional Software Sales Manager

Location: Sugar Land, TX

Status: Full Time, Employee

Would you like to help customers dramatically improve their business with innovative software? Do you love the thrill of sourcing and closing business? Are you driven to be number one? If so, this may be a great opportunity for you! We are looking for experienced, self-motivated, self-directed individuals with a proven track record in software sales or closely related technical software sales.

To help you succeed, we offer many vehicles for our sales professionals, including telephone/web presentations, trade shows, trade associations, sales seminars in cities around the country, and visits to prospects' offices. Each sales professional has a territory and can use any cost effective means to reach and close business and is further helped by a fairly high level of marketing activity.

This is a salaried position with commission. The likely total annual compensation for better-than-average sales professionals would be over $100,000 a year. Compensation could be considerably more for truly talented individuals. No cap on commission.

Essential Position Functions

Regardless of experience it is imperative that you can master our software. We have many software products and are adding more all of the time. While it is not necessary to know every detail of the software, all of the major concepts, features, and benefits to the customer must be fully understood. You must also be friendly, helpful, and genuinely want to help customers solve their business problems. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Comfortable selling over the telephone primarily as opposed to face to face
  • Being a team player working with various departments and adapting to the company culture that has made HCSS the leader in our industry.
  • Being self motivated and ‘driven” to be successful
  • Be very organized and systematic
  • Proficient at using Salesforce or some other CRM software to manage a large database of potential prospects and to be able to systematically make follow up phone calls daily to work these prospects through the sales cycle
  • Be a solution based salesperson offering a consultive approach to help customers and prospects meet their business needs; then being able to “close” the business at the right time.
  • Having the industry and product knowledge to be comfortable giving sales presentations via the internet or in person
  • Work with HCSS technical staff as a resource for addressing business solutions for clients. Maintain strong customer relationships including extensive socializing at user's group meetings and trade shows
  • Ability to travel once every several months as needed
  • Attend several trade shows per year, each of which may last as long as a week
  • Provide to HCSS management forecasts and statistics summarizing your activity

    How to Apply

    To ensure you have the logic skills for problem solving, we give all applicants a short reasoning test as well as some simple grammar/vocabulary questions. Although the test is not particularly difficult (about 7th grade level), if you were poor at math in school, you will probably not pass the test.
